Terms
These terms cover cylin.app, Cylin Hub and the Vocabulary, Multiplication and Piano Sight Reading apps (together, “Cylin”). By creating an account or using Cylin, you agree to them. Please read them with our privacy policy.

Who we are
Cylin is made and run by Cylin (“we”, “us”). Contact us at support@cylin.app.
Accounts are for grown-ups
- You must be 18 or older, and the parent or legal guardian of any child you add, to create a Cylin account.
- You are responsible for your account and for how the children you add use Cylin. Keep your password and parent PIN to yourself.
- Give us a real email address you control, so we can help you get back into your account.
- Children use Cylin through their parent’s account and never sign up themselves.
The beta, and what it costs
Cylin is in beta. Every app is free during the beta, with no card needed. If we introduce paid plans later, we will tell you in advance, and nothing will be charged unless you choose a plan. Because it is a beta, features may change, and the apps may sometimes be unavailable or have problems we have not yet found.
Using Cylin fairly
Please don’t:
- try to get into another family’s account or information, or to get around the parent PIN or other protections;
- disrupt, overload or reverse engineer the service, or use automated tools to access it, except to read our public pages;
- copy, resell or republish the apps or their content;
- upload anything unlawful or harmful, for example in a word list.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it.
Our content and yours
The apps, their design, words, pictures, recordings, music and levels belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your family’s learning while you have an account.
Anything you add, such as children’s names or your own word lists, stays yours. You let us store and use it only to run Cylin for your family.
About progress and estimates
Cylin is a practice tool, not a test or a substitute for school or professional advice. The progress and level estimates the apps show are approximate, based only on practice in the app, and are not grades or official assessments.
Ending your account
You can stop using Cylin at any time and delete your account in Cylin Hub, under Settings → Delete account, or ask us to by emailing support@cylin.app. We may end the service or an app with reasonable notice; if we do, we will help you keep your children’s progress where we can.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep Cylin accurate, safe and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or progress, and our total liability for any claim about Cylin is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (during the free beta, that is zero). Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, email you before they take effect. If you keep using Cylin after that, the new terms apply.
